It has always been our very, very strong recommendation to take out travel insurance.

Some “soft adventure” companies have long made it mandatory; we have not wished to be dictatorial on this before,  but now during these uncertain Covid times, that it would be foolish for everyone concerned NOT to have a comprehensive policy in place.

The best coverage add-on for potential Covid issues is “Cancel For Any Reason”.  It does mean literally that – because you had a bad week at work, or you broke a fingernail. But you must take this out very soon after paying your first deposit –  between 7-21 days (policy dependent). Please be sure to read all the small print; policies can differ widely.

Sadly for all, the UK currently has Greece on the “amber” list; but for anyone not concerned about the restrictions on return, then there are still travel insurance companies who will offer cover for “amber” countries. Try eg, Staysure.

For our travellers from the US, here are two insurance portals which will give you the choice of several different companies.

These links go straight to their CFAR (Cancel For Any Reason) pages, as this is by far the best way ensure peace of mind with Covid coverage.
